Dyslexia Solutions Services
Many schools aren’t set up to give students with dyslexia the kind of instruction they truly need. That’s where Structured Literacy comes in—it’s one of the most effective approaches for helping students with dyslexia learn to read. It teaches reading in a very clear and organized way, starting with the basics of how sounds and letters work together.
Structured Literacy is based on the work of Samuel Orton and Dr. Anna Gillingham—so you might hear it called the Orton-Gillingham approach.
Here’s what makes it so effective:
Explicit instruction: Every student starts at the beginning. We never assume they already know something—we teach each skill directly.
Systematic and cumulative: Lessons follow a logical order and build on each other, step by step.
Multisensory learning: Students use sight, sound, and movement to help the learning stick.
Paced for the student: We go at the student’s pace. They only move on once they’ve truly mastered the material.
